Isabelle Duff
I am a writer and freelance journalist from Ireland, I am based in London. I have written features and opinion pieces for newspapers and magazines including The Irish Independent, The Fence, The iPaper and The Spectator. My writing has led me to appear on radio and podcasts including RTE, Newstalk and LMFM.
I worked as lead producer for US politics for five years, covering the first Trump administration, the 2020 elections and the Biden administration until 2022. I researched, wrote, commissioned and edited daily news packages that were used by major networks and publications in the US. Including The Boston Globe, Lee Enterprises, Fox and others.
I have interviewed many leading political figures in Ireland, the UK and the USA including Mary Lou MacDonald, Leader of Sinn Fein, Alastair Campbell and Jamie Harrison, Chairperson of the DNC.
I hold a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin and The University of Saint Andrews. My academic work includes publication in the academic journal The Trinity Women’s Review for my essay ‘The Morality of the Mini Skirt’ and my dissertation on teenagers and the showband culture of Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s entitled Finding Space in Spotlight.
I am always interested in the changing nature of Irish life. My academic work has centered around Irish social history. In 2018 I appeared as a contributor in the award winning documentary ‘Under the Clock’ where I provided commentary on the changing attitude to dating and romance in Ireland.
